Today, we’re featuring a beautiful Pacific Northwest travel story captured on medium format film from Ashley Krombach. Here is more from Ashley about the magic of the PNW…
The magic of the Pacific Northwest is its rooted, yet everchanging, beauty. A kaleidoscope of sorts. Mountains and desert and coastal views – each telling a story that engrosses you from the start but different the next time you find yourself there.
You can feel it in the way the cold water hits your bare feet as the mountains thaw into summer. In the way the air becomes salty as you drive further along the coast. In the way the wind howls as it dances through the forest. There is a soft romance about the Pacific Northwest. A sense of home and the excitement of a new place all at once no matter where you go. She’s enchanting and spirited, alluring, and always in flux.

Many of the photos have a yellowish-orangish warm tone to them. Was this the result of the film used, the postprocessing, or just the time of day? The tone differs from my impression of the PNW, but I don’t live there.
