Today, we’re featuring an incredible film soup series from photographer Allison Charnin. Allison traveled to Paris and captured the sights on 35mm film. Then, she soaked the film in salt, blue Dawn dish soap, pink food coloring, and boiling water to create some amazing effects on her images. Here is more from Allison about her time in Paris…

My daughter just finished a foreign exchange in France, and I had the opportunity to travel and collect her. Armed with my Nikon FE and a few rolls of Kodak Gold, I happily snapped away as we toured the Louvre, Montmartre, and the Eiffel Tower with the plan to soup these rolls when we got home. These images seem to capture both the history of Paris and also the vibrancy and creativity it has brought out in artists through the ages.

Analog cameras and films used: Nikon FE (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay) | Kodak Gold (Find on Amazon)
