Today, we’re featuring a beautiful New Zealand travel story from film photographer Abbie Williams. Here is more from Abbie about her road trip around New Zealand…
With many rolls of film, two 35mm cameras, and a bright green Jucy van, we took to the road to explore New Zealand’s breathtaking and secluded landscapes, along with their windy roads, for 5 weeks.
These images capture the raw quiet beauty of the north island, and the stunning diverse landscapes of the South Island. My film cameras came along for the adventure of our first ever road trip, igniting a love for this country and its untouched nature.
We visited in the autumn and experienced the quickly changing weather, sometimes all in one day, especially in the south islands that are home to volcanoes, glaciers, and mountains. I lost count of the amount of hikes we walked, but I’m lucky to have been able to capture the views we got to see.
Analog cameras and films used: Olympus OM-1 (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay), Olympus Superzoom 800S (Find on eBay) | Kodak Gold 200 (Find on Amazon)
