Today, we’re featuring a beautiful winter travel series from film photographer Kris Lamb. Here is more from Kris about capturing the snow covered mountains of Banff with a point-and-shoot camera…
As a winter baby, I live and breathe for the cold weather. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been making short weekend trips out to Banff, Alberta to snowboard. My most recent trip this past winter, I decided to bring my film camera along with me to get pictures from the mountain and the trails around.
There is something about winter and how the sound is dampened by the snow that sparks my creativity.
I shot all of these on a point and shoot camera, believe it or not, a Minolta Supreme Freedom Zoom Elite on Portra 400 and Kodak Gold 200. Those two films are by far my favorite as they have such great warm shadows and undertones with pastel dream-like highlights.
