Colorful Day at the Beach by Kate Bunting

I am fortunate enough to be able to visit a really pretty beach in Florida, because my parents have a place there. My wife and I went down to stay with them in February. The weather wasn’t very good for most of the trip, but we did luck out one of the days, and I was able to get some pretty great photos.
We started the day at Camp Helen State Park looking for some shorebirds. We hiked around the grounds and headed to the beach where we were able to find some Terns, Laughing Gulls, and Sandpipers. After that, we had some lunch and chilled out for a bit before heading to the Watersound Club for dinner. We walked down to the boardwalk to see the beach. They have a long boardwalk that goes down to the beach over the dunes. The goal was to make sure we were down at the beach for sunset. It was incredible. We were so lucky. The colors were absolutely beautiful and there was this overflow area between the beach and dunes that created this perfect reflection of the sky. It was incredible, and I was lucky to capture it all on film. I really enjoyed using the Nikon FG for the most for this. It’s a great little camera that produces great results. It was actually my first time testing it out and it didn’t disappoint.
