Agfa Vista 200 Overview: Agfa Vista 200 is a fun and bright consumer film, which was pretty inexpensive before it was discontinued. It likes a lot of light and can handle a bit of overexposure well. Try rating it at 100 for fun, punchy colors. Agfa Vista was discontinued in early 2018, but (at least as of posting this article) you can still pick up some on Amazon here: Agfa Photo Vista Plus 200 in 35mm
There is so much to love about Agfa Vista film!
I first tried Agfa Vista 200 for the price. It’s a very affordable consumer film. I keep coming back to it for the color.
I also have a love affair with my 35mm camera, and I can’t decide if it’s because Agfa doesn’t come in 120 or if I really just don’t like my medium format camera.
What To Expect From This Film
I feel like the look of this film is somewhere between Portra 400 and Ektar 100. It’s not golden like Portra, but it’s also not as punchy as Ektar.
Agfa feels like what color looks like in real life to me. It’s bright and fun and happy!
How To Shoot And Meter Agfa Vista 200
I usually use the spot meter in my Nikon F100, and I rate it at 100.
It performs best in bright sun. It definitely needs a lot of light! Since it needs so much light, it struggles indoors.
