This week, we’re featuring an incredible series of night film photography from Sara Johansen. Sara captured the lights of Las Vegas with her medium format camera, bringing to life the energy and nightlife of the city. Here is more from Sara about her time in Las Vegas…
When my husband told me we would be going to Las Vegas for a work event for him, I immediately started mentally taking images in my head. It had been years since I had last been to Las Vegas, but I knew I wanted to go night shooting to capture the lights. Since most of our time there was spent at different events, I only had one night to get out and really capture the lights.
I started out on the strip, and then moved to Fremont Street to capture the more iconic lights of Las Vegas. I ended the evening back at our hotel, The Bellagio, capturing the fountains with the lights of the strip behind it. Night shooting can be tricky, but I was happy to feel the life of Las Vegas come through my images.
