Today’s feature is a wonderful photo story from film photographer Sarah Kivell. Here is more from Sarah about making memories at Little Hawk Lake…
I am savoring our family vacations more and more as my boys get older. When they were young, I spent a lot of time holding and helping them. Now, I watch them from a distance as they become more independent and find their own way in the world.
Last summer we rented a cabin on Little Hawk Lake, six hours north of us. Life, for that week, was simplified. We swam, boated, and fished. We made big breakfasts, battled large spiders in the outhouse, and played many games. One day, when the boys were bored, I found some craft supplies in a cupboard and taught them how to make friendship bracelets. I think they’ve both lost those bracelets by now, but these memories of simply being together are never gone.

Charming story and images! Just wonderful! Some these images are superb. I especially like the ones with the dog in the images. Also admired the one with your reflection in the mirror as you took the picture. You captured the mood of your vacation so well with these film images. Thanks for posting this marvelous piece!
