Today, we’re featuring a stunning fashion editorial from New York City film photographer Luca Mercedes. Luca teamed up with model Audrey Kitching to create images full of drama, movement, and the amazing NYC landscape. Here are a few words from Luca:
Audrey Kitching and I came together for a walk in the Museum and on the streets of NYC. She is wearing Juergen Christian Hoerl Outside. We always wanted to hang out since I have been following her for years, and she has been a fan of my work – so, boom, we got together in NYC for a quick shoot.
I started shooting film when I was 13 years old, and I was told by my photography teacher a couple of years later that I wouldn’t be successful shooting film in this day and age. After a few years of soul searching, learning Photoshop and Lightroom – I came to the conclusion that film is still my medium of choice. So I went out to prove this person wrong. 10 years after I was told film is dead, I started a film photography magazine dedicated to analog photography, and I shoot mainly film for my fine art wedding photography, fashion photography, and my artwork.
Analog cameras and films used: Mamiya 645 J (Find at KEH Camera) | Kodak Ektar 100 in 120 (Find on Amazon) | Developed and scanned by Foto Leutner
