Today, we’re featuring a beautiful portrait series from film photographer Jeremy Gunawan. Here is more from Jeremy about this series captured on the beach in Melbourne, Australia…
The end of my Melbourne days were approaching back in November 2020. I had planned to go back to my home country, Indonesia, in December, and I planned to make my last days in Melbourne count. Among those plans were creating portraits using my analog camera before I put a halt on my photography journey due to the raging pandemic in Indonesia.
One day, I saw a post on Instagram displaying a series of photographs at a beach. There, a woman was shown as if she was running around the beach in a carefree manner. I wanted to create a series inspired by the post and hoped that it reminded me of my feelings in Melbourne, where I was able to simply be myself. Where I could be free from the burdening expectations of other people.
