Today, we’re featuring a travel series from film photographer Nat Meier. From one end of California to the other, Nat used expired film and some Kodak Portra 400 to capture the beautiful colors and atmospheres of San Francisco and Palm Springs. Here are a few words from Nat about this series…
I’ve been shooting film for about 10 months now. I’ve tried all kinds of cameras, but my tried and true is my little Olympus Infinity Twin. It’s given me the best quality photos with just the right amount of grain. I’m particularly proud of these two rolls: an expired Konica 400 roll from Japan and a reliable Portra 400. I didn’t expect much from the Konica because it was my first time trying expired film, but the pink tones really did it for me, and it’s become my favorite roll I’ve ever shot! As for the Portra, what better place for some moody, summery film shots than the desert? All of those were shot in Palm Springs.
