Today, we’re featuring a series of images from photographer Kevan Wilkinson shot on the California coast with CineStill 800T. Here are a few words from Kevan about his experience with CineStill film…
One of my go-to 35mm film stocks of choice is CineStill 800T. It transforms dark, abandoned, or otherwise average-looking places into vivid, colorful ones that are jampacked with the unique characteristics of analog film. I’ve taken pictures of city streets, store windows and hotel lobbies with CineStill 800T film, and the end results are enchanting and almost dreamlike. Subtle lights have a stunning glow effect and fine details are rendered perfectly. CineStill 800T film’s tungsten balance can alter the look of some types of lighting (i.e., fluorescent) but it’s actually something I don’t worry about. For example, I’ve had colorful street lights and signs look completely different in my finished prints, but their color changes actually look cool and experimental.
