Today, we’re featuring a beautiful set of images from film photographer Peter Stout. Peter captured the incredible landscapes of Costa Rica along with special family moments during his time there. Here are a few words from Peter about his time in Costa Rica…
Our family goes all-out for its family reunions, and this year was no exception. We spent a week at Playa Ocotal, in Guanacaste Costa Rica. Kids and timezone changes don’t mix well, which meant we spent every sunrise on the beach. Low tide exposed fantastic lava rock that was ripe for hikes and hermit crab hunting. And sunsets were spectacular every evening.
My family is always my inspiration, and capturing them in once-in-a-lifetime locations on film gives me priceless memories. I live for high contrast scenes, backlit portraits, and beaches. And Costa Rica offered it all.

Hi,
I’m in Costa Rica right now shooting film and am concerned because all my bags had to be x rayed upon leaving the airport in Liberia. I assume this was also the case for you too. Any x ray damage?

Anthony, sorry to hear that! No I was able to get a handcheck. I also flew in/out of Liberia, so maybe at that smaller airport it wasn’t as strict. Hopefully your film turns out fine.
