Crete is an island as old as time. Since giving birth to the first European civilization, its unique position in the middle of the Eastern Mediterranean has made it a hub of commerce and a meeting point for different cultures through the centuries. The blues of the sea, the ochre of the arid hills, the dark green of the forests, and the white of its houses make it the perfect playground for a film photographer. Of all the amazing things I was lucky to do there, the descent into the Samaria Gorge at sunrise will remain impressed into my mind forever. The crisp morning air and the soft haze lifting from the woods was unforgettable.
