Today, we’re featuring an amazing experimental film photography series from Angela Izzo. Here is more from Angela about traveling to Europe and capturing it on film…
This collection features photographs captured on film during my recent trip to Europe, exploring the beautiful destinations of Paris, Portugal, and Spain. It was my first time visiting these incredible countries, experiencing them with fresh eyes and film cameras in hand. Shooting with film on trips like this feels special—like unwrapping a gift when the film is developed, revealing the moments each camera has captured.
I enjoy experimenting with different film stocks and cameras to create a variety of effects, adding a unique character to every shot. While traveling, I fully immerse myself in the cultural experience—meeting locals, discovering hidden gems, visiting galleries, and even thrift shopping. Some of my favorite moments on this trip included wandering through Paris on a rainy day, stepping inside the Sagrada Família and exploring Gaudí’s masterpieces, and marveling at the castles of Sintra in Portugal.
Every image holds a journey and a story. I travel far and wide to capture these moments, and I’m honored to share them with the world.
