At the turn of the year, I spent six weeks traveling through Indonesia, moving between five islands: Sumatra, Borneo, Java, Karimunjawa, and Bali. I carried my favorite camera, a Canon FT QL, together with rolls of Kodak Portra 400, Kodak Gold 200, and Kodak Ultramax 400.
I feel nature as the heart of my work, and Indonesia became an endless source of inspiration. Its shifting landscapes, lush textures, and astonishing spectrum of colors revealed themselves with every new place. The photographs I have chosen come from different corners of the archipelago. Together, they are an attempt to convey not only the landscapes I encountered, but also the richness, wonder, and quiet intensity of experiencing them
