This week, we’re featuring a New Orleans travel story from film photographer Michael Lovejoy. Michael used a variety of cameras and film to capture the look and feel of New Orleans, including some awesome vintage cars and a unique take on the local landscape. Here is more from Michael about the experience…
My wife and I took a trip to New Orleans earlier this year for some live music. I knew I wanted to document our trip on film (because that’s what I always do). I feel that Portra and HP5 were perfect selections for this trip and were perfect film stocks to really capture the feel of the city.
Analog cameras and films used: Minolta x700 (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay), Canon AE-1 (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay), Yashica Mat 124g (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay) | Ilford HP5+ 400 push to 1600 (Find on Amazon), Kodak Portra 400 (Find on Amazon), Kodak Portra 160 (Find on Amazon)
