Our latest feature is a beautiful travel story from film photographer Curtis Heikkinen. Here is more from Curtis about photographing the Oregon Coast…
The Oregon coast is one of the most spectacular in the United States, if not the world. These images are from recent visits and highlight special places where land meets the sea. The Oregon coast is much photographed, so I tried to find less commonly photographed vantage points. One could spend a lifetime creating images on the Oregon coast. A small number of images hardly do it justice, but I hope they give readers who have never visited a compelling taste of this magnificent place.

As much as I love my local coastline in Cornwall (UK) or the coast of Western Scotland, Curtis’s photographs just fill me with wanderlust to experience such a beautiful (beautifully photographed) Oregan!

Spectacular photos that make one hear the sea and the birds and the waves on the rocks. I particularly like the first photo for its colors, and the one of the rock with birds perched on it. Thank you for this beauty!

Great job. Your photos are works of art. They feed the senses . I feel like I can hear the waves crashing on the rocks, smell the salt air, and touch the water The ocean is is so peaceful and majestic all at the same time.
