Today, we’re featuring a wonderful Scotland travel series from Rebecca Fletcher. Here is more from Rebecca about her time visiting the islands of Uist…
In early 2022, I picked up a 35mm SLR camera for the first time and fell in love with the process and the photos. So when I booked a holiday to the Outer Hebrides with my partner, I knew I was only going to use film during the trip. I settled on taking my Canon SLR and two Lomography cameras. We took a ferry over to Uist in June and were lucky enough to visit five of the six islands: Berneray, North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist, and Eriskay. Every beach we visited seemed to be better than the last, with endless stretches of white sand. I used the Canon SLR to take landscape shots around the islands and had some fun with the Lomography cameras, trying out double exposures for the first time on the LC-A+. The Lomo Action Sampler was brilliant for capturing the moving waves as well as people and dogs!
