Today, we’re featuring a lovely portrait series from film photographer Milena Baeza. Here is more from Milena about capturing this series in Lanzarote, part of the Canary Islands off of the coast of West Africa…
Pops of green from cactuses. Dark sand beaches. I invited Matilde and Sofia, locals from Fuerteventura (the island nearby), to join me on exploring Lanzarote island until the sun set. I wanted to portrait their friendship, the human connection, and make it shine through the raw backdrop of Lanzarote. We adventured through this land getting blown away by the uniqueness of the landscape that could be a piece of Mars.
Analog cameras and films used: Minolta 505si (Find on eBay), Mamiya 645 (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay) | Kodak Portra 400 (Find on Amazon)
