Our latest feature is an Australian travel story from film photographer Andrew Hutchinson. Here is more from Andrew about exploring Australia for two years…
After a two-year expedition on the road that took me up, down, and around Australia, I found myself immersed into the wild, traversing the illuminating outback, mystical tropical rainforests, psychedelic coral reefs, dreamy beaches, snowy slopes, sacred indigenous sites, hectic mountain summits, the sickest waterfalls/waterholes, and the most mind-boggling geological rock formations you can lay eyes on.
The beautifully diverse and colorful landscapes of this country will forever be imprinted in my memory with ecstasy. Many times, I found myself in a moment where the world stood still. The blissful serenity constantly inspired the motion of wanting to discover more of the fruits which this great southern land bears.
The open road facilitates many introspective and retrospective thoughts. As the music was pumping, the sun was setting, the birds were flocking, and the “blinky mobile” was humming along, I always found myself in a state of homeostasis. It’s cool to find what brings one joy and peace. I hope to inspire anyone who has the desire to make tracks for an extended amount of time. It’s just one of those things in life you need to do.
I have made a photo journal comprising of sixty 35mm photographs which encapsulates the native scenery along with a few written blurbs and journal entries. If you are curious about Australia and what beholds here, I can promise this photo book has all the inspiration you will need. Message me on Instagram if you’re keen.
