Today, we’re featuring a beautiful set of images from film photographer Jake Peterson. Jake captured the stunning landscapes and charming local buildings of his hometown of Monterey, California. Here is more from Jake about photographing his home on film…
This series is about Monterey, California. Monterey is a sleepy town on the Central Coast of California, forever immortalized in Steinbeck’s Cannery Row. I’ve lived here all my life, and, for a while now, I have been taking photos on analog but always struggled to photograph my own area. I have photographed the East Coast and the Northwest and many more places but just felt I couldn’t do my home justice. I always felt like I was leaving something out. But after photographing Cannery Row in Monterey, I inspired myself to compile work on the area and get to a stage to showcase the home which I love so much. Hope you all enjoy it.
