Today, we’re featuring a gorgeous travel story from film photographer Izzie Farr. Here is more from Izzie about her trip to Portugal and capturing her travels on film…
As I’m sure most Shoot It With Film readers will agree, for me, photography is an essential part of any trip. So it was with utter delight when, last summer, I holidayed to Portugal with friends who love photography, and even better, they are also film enthusiasts. Between the three of us we had six analogue cameras and about thirty rolls of film packed into our small carry-on cases, where we journeyed to Porto, Cascais, Lisbon, and the Algarve.
Our days consisted of visiting beautiful towns, cities, beaches, and coastline, while frequently pausing to take photos, drinking copious amounts of Super Bock, and finding great restaurants with authentic Portuguese food. Then, we got to relive it all again when our film rolls were developed.
Analog cameras and films used: Canon A-1 (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay) | Kodak Gold 200 (Find on Amazon)

Love the photos you’ve posted of your trip to Portugal. Fantastic lighting which really suits your film shock.
I’m interested to know what lens you prefer for those shots??
I’ve owned my A-1 for 30 years and have to say that my 28mm lens virtually lives on it !!
