Our latest feature is a travel story from film photographer Maria Vorona. Maria captured the warm, beautiful beaches and foggy cliffs of Portugal on 35mm film. Here is more from Maria about her time in Portugal…
It was the hot summer of 2018, and my friend Kate and I wanted to escape the city. The plan was to spend some time on the beach, and we couldn’t decide where to go exactly. But, then, we were seduced by gorgeous pictures of the beaches in Portugal. We still think these beaches are the best we’ve ever seen.
For these photos, I used Kodak Gold and Kodak Portra films, which are one of my favorite options, especially for summer trips. I like the warm colors, and, for me, it feels like sun warmth captured on film. And my memories about this trip are as warm as the perfectly beige sand on the beaches.
