Today, we’re featuring a D.C. photo story from film photographer Shirsho Dasgupta. Here is more from Shirsho about capturing his home city on film…
I’m a reporter (NOT photojournalist) based out of Washington, DC. I moved to the city in the summer of 2019 and took up film photography as a hobby very late in 2023. As I completed my fifth anniversary in this city this year, I wanted to capture my favorite parts of this wonderful, somewhat underrated even, place I now call home. My photos capture shots of tranquil parks, quiet residential areas, downtown streets, and magnificent buildings — neoclassical and brutalist — projecting power and majesty.
