Today, we’re featuring an amazing Polaroid landscape series from film photographer Mila Maes. Here is more from Mila about her connection to wetland ecosystems…
I am deeply passionate about capturing the beauty of northern landscapes. Over the past few years, I’ve developed a deep connection to wetlands. They’re the most beautiful landscapes I’ve ever seen, and I love everything about them. I love the smell of the damp earth, the way it changes with the light, and the feeling of being surrounded by magic.
Every time I visit a wetland, I feel like I can breathe again. It’s a place where I can relax and feel at peace with myself and the world around me. I always want to return to wetlands again and again. I hope this series will create a sense of connection and belonging to the incredible planet we live on in viewers. Wetlands are essential to our ecosystem and deserve our respect and appreciation.

Wow! Incredibly beautiful images. Polaroid being such an amazing choice, magic film for a magic location. So often we see these films used for portraits (nothing wrong with that!) I love seeing it used for landscape work, something is so special about how these expired films capture light.
