Today, we’re featuring a series of film images from America’s new favorite pastime: camping! Film photographer John Korossy has been traveling the US capturing the details of campground life. Here is a little about John and his photo series:
For me, there’s nothing like getting away to a campsite in the woods, cooking meals over an open fire, relaxing by reading, doing crossword puzzles, and of course making photographs.
I have met many incredibly genuine, friendly, and kind people in my travels, and started a photo reportage project last year, which will continue through the fall of 2018 (perhaps beyond). I will document the places, people, and experiences that I find so peaceful and relaxing.
Through a series of travels to several locations within the US, this project explores feelings of connectivity and camaraderie, along with the characters that form the camping experience and the road trip along the way. In a real sense, the destination is experienced through the journey, with the sights along the way as the way points not to be missed. You can read more about the project here.
