Today, we’re featuring a Western South Dakota travel story from film photographer Kamie Wittrock. Here is more from Kamie about capturing the western landscape on film…
Our family loves to regularly make the six hour trek from eastern South Dakota to Western South Dakota, home to the Black Hills National Forest, Historic Deadwood, and Mount Rushmore. We typically travel out there once or twice a year, so I wanted to challenge myself to see a familiar landscape with fresh eyes. I love how film so perfectly pairs with the Wild West feel of the area!
Analog cameras and films used: Nikon FM (Find at KEH Camera or on eBay) | Kodak Portra 800 (Find on Amazon), Ilford HP5 (Find on Amazon)
